Great collar! Feb 16, 2010
By Karla M. Thomson I was looking for a collar for my dog so she could have more freedom. She did ok with the "come" command but if she was distracted she blocked me out. Selective hearing maybe... Anyway, she really doesn't like things that vibrate so I wanted a collar that had vibrate and tone but no shock. However I couldn't find such a collar. So I decided to go with the Sportdog 1825 because it had all 3 features and you could program it so you didn't need to use the shock feature. This is the best thing I have bought for both me and my dog. She listens so well and I have NEVER had to shock her. Most of the time now I don't have to use it at all. If I hit the tone she comes looking for me, kind of turned it into a game at times. If the tone doesn't work then I press the vibrate button and that always works. She is a very friendly dog and wants to greet everyone or every dog we encounter but with this collar I can get her to stay at my side until I say "OK". Also, no more trying to chase the UPS or FED-EX trucks...that always scared me. Now when I see one coming I just tell her "No, stay." and just keep talking to her quietly. It's amazing and gives me so much relief that she can run and play with her friends without being on a leash. She loves her freedom and knows that this collar gives her that. It's very user friendly and easy to program. I would highly recommend Sportdog to anyone! Great customer service too if you have any questions or problems!!

Great Collar!!! Expensive, But Worth Every Penny!!!! Feb 22, 2010

The first shock collar i bought was from PetSafe and let me tell you, that thing was a piece of junk. I upgraded to this collar because the petsafe collar did not hold up to it's end of the bargain( the petsafe collar is now a 130 dollar paper weight.) I recieved the Wetlandhunter collar in the mail a few days ago, and let me tell you, it is a great shock collar. The first thing that caught my eye was the 1 Mile coverage distance. I put the transmitter in the car and drove a mile down the road and called my wife on her cell phone. She confirmed that at a mile the collar was beeping and vibrating as i pressed the buttons. The overall build of the collar is great. This thing is literally bullet proof. The camoflage design makes by pitbull look like a hunting dog. lol. But overall, this collar is great. 300 dollars is a little steep, but you get a great quality product which in the long run is well worth it. whatever you do, dont go with petsafe!!!!

This collar can be a life saver if you have a dog that likes to escape! Sep 22, 2010
By Stepdog24 Thanks to this collar, WHEN USED PROPERLY, my dog is coming when I call now and is not as willing to stray from my side anymore! But, please be advised, it is a must to read the user guide before using this collar. You could really hurt your dog or cause him to become very fearful of you. The purpose of the collar is to teach a quick recall in a hunting situation AFTER your dog has been properly trained to verbal cues! I have a beagle and he loves catching a scent and amazingly disappearing in a second. With this collar, I simply put it on before I turn him loose and when I notice he is getting too far from my side, I call and correct him. He comes almost instantly. In the past, I would be hunting for him for hours and he refused to come back when he smelled a trail. With a touch of the correction button on low, he comes back within a minute! The best part for me is that it's like having an invisible fence with you at all times. I don't have to keep my dog on a leash anymore!

SportDog 1825 Remote Dog Training Collar Oct 28, 2009
By Skip W. Purchased a SportDog 1825 from Mack's Prairie Wings. There was a slight glitch in the original product received. The manufacturer replaced it without hesitation and paid for return shipping of the other item. The new device works flawlessly. Another call to the manufacturer for use instructions was handled professionally and without delay. Highly recommend both Mack's Prairie Wings and SportDog.

Great collar at a good price Sep 09, 2010

I had a basic Innotek collar, which was fine when I had one dog who didn't wander far. Now that I have two pointers with a case of wanderlust it just wasn't what I needed anymore, especially since my dogs could get outside the 300 yard range in the blink of an eye. I did a lot of research and this collar had great reviews & the features I needed. The range is great, I don't have a problem with them getting outside it anymore. I also bought a second collar & programming both collars was really easy. All in all, I am very pleased with this purchase.
