Great system for an impulsive dog. Sep 07, 2010 I have a double terrier mix who has an incredible urge to dart to the next distraction. He has unusually long, thick fur which has made it difficult to keep the contact points on his skin but tightening the collar eventually solved the problem and he doesn't seem to mind the pressure. The lowest setting on this machine is sufficient to get his attention and remind him that there is a consequence for even putting pressure on his leash. When the urge to rush toward distraction nears being overwhelming, he tends to lower his body into a crouch and a brief touch of the button convinces him to stand up straight and rethink his options. Just using the verb "think" is a major change in describing this otherwise great dog. I love this collar.
SportDOG SD-1825CAMO WetlandHunter 1825 Electronic Dog Training Collar May 10, 2010 I bought this for my husbands dog to help him to train him not to chase people running by our home when we are in the yard. Best investment we could have made.
We now have peace of mind.
Each time our dog would start off running after people running "instead of calling him and saying we where so sorry to the poor unsuspecting runners. my husband let the dog" we let him get started running and pushes the 5 button "poof our dog runs right back to us" with out one word. Also the training video that came with the SportDOG SD-1825CAMO WetlandHunter 1825 Electronic Dog Training Collar is priceless. thank you, thank you.
best i ever had May 06, 2010 I have a blue tic and a basset hound for hunting and they both are very stubborn they would bark all day and night and would not fallow any commands as well as chase deer and since the purchase of this training collar its like i traded my dogs in for 2 that came right out of obedience school. I would recommend this to anyone that wants to have a well behaved dog.

Great Collar!!! Expensive, But Worth Every Penny!!!! Feb 22, 2010 The first shock collar i bought was from PetSafe and let me tell you, that thing was a piece of junk. I upgraded to this collar because the petsafe collar did not hold up to it's end of the bargain( the petsafe collar is now a 130 dollar paper weight.) I recieved the Wetlandhunter collar in the mail a few days ago, and let me tell you, it is a great shock collar. The first thing that caught my eye was the 1 Mile coverage distance. I put the transmitter in the car and drove a mile down the road and called my wife on her cell phone. She confirmed that at a mile the collar was beeping and vibrating as i pressed the buttons. The overall build of the collar is great. This thing is literally bullet proof. The camoflage design makes by pitbull look like a hunting dog. lol. But overall, this collar is great. 300 dollars is a little steep, but you get a great quality product which in the long run is well worth it. whatever you do, dont go with petsafe!!!!
Great collar! Feb 16, 2010 I was looking for a collar for my dog so she could have more freedom. She did ok with the "come" command but if she was distracted she blocked me out. Selective hearing maybe... Anyway, she really doesn't like things that vibrate so I wanted a collar that had vibrate and tone but no shock. However I couldn't find such a collar. So I decided to go with the Sportdog 1825 because it had all 3 features and you could program it so you didn't need to use the shock feature. This is the best thing I have bought for both me and my dog. She listens so well and I have NEVER had to shock her. Most of the time now I don't have to use it at all. If I hit the tone she comes looking for me, kind of turned it into a game at times. I hide press the tone button and she comes to find me. If the tone doesn't work then I press the vibrate button and that always works. She is a very friendly dog and wants to greet everyone or every dog we encounter but with this collar I can get her to stay at my side until I say "OK". Also, no more trying to chase the UPS or FED-EX trucks...that always scared me. Now when I see one coming I just tell her "No, stay." and just keep talking to her quietly. It's amazing and gives me so much relief that she can run and play with her friends without being on a leash. She loves her freedom and knows that this collar gives her that. It's very user friendly and easy to program. I would highly recommend Sportdog to anyone! Great customer service too if you have any questions or problems!!
