Petsafe SportDOG Rechargeable NoBark 10R Bark Control Collar

The SportDOG No Bark 10R will never mistake anything for your dog's bark except, well, your dog's bark. The patented design requires both the sound of your dog's bark and the tangible vibration from the bark to occur at the same time before it corrects your dog. Every other anti-bark system available triggers off one or the other, but not both.

  • Cure your dog of excessive barking safely and comfortably

  • Choose 1 of 3 training modes that require both vibration and sound of bark to trigger correction

  • Automatic shutoff feature eliminates risk of overcorrection

  • Long-life rechargeable battery, charger, operating guide, and lifetime limited warranty included

1Battery will not hold charge after 6 months  Jul 20, 2010
Out of the box the battery lasted a few days, but over time performance deteriorated and now, after 6 months, the battery won't hold a charge even for a day. I've used the collar sparingly because it's extremely bulky and heavy for any dog and I'm concerned it borders on cruelty. It's cleverly designed and effective when it works, but the design is not ready for commercialization and the battery/charger needs further development.

1Stopped working less than a year after purchase  Jul 19, 2010
We bought this collar and it worked fine for about six months, but it stopped working shortly after that.

Once it stopped working, we looked for warranty information, and now we see that we needed to register the product within 90 days for the warranty to be valid, so the company has us right where they want us, and they've got our $$$ that they took for this rather expensive rip-off.

5A Great Training Aid  Jul 15, 2010
I have a couple big dogs who can be loud and defensive. I didn't know what to do, I have a neighbor who complains about the noise, but I couldn't seem to train them with treats or with loud tones so I turned to this. I didn't want to hurt my dogs, so once I read up on this product I was quick to jump on it. To my surprise, and relief, it worked extremely well. I can't say enough what these collars did for me. My dogs still love me and have not been harmed at all, they've just learned. I have to recommend this, it's a great training aid for your pets.

4Great product  Jul 15, 2010
My husband and I researched a lot of collars before deciding on the 10r. A few things that sold us were the different modes of operation, the rechargeable battery, and the fact it requires both sound and vibration to issue a correction. We bought this collar for our beagle, who loves to bark at the neighbors. The collar charged up very quickly straight from the box and I was able to put it on the dog that evening. When the collar issued a correction for her barking, it did startle her, but she didn't seem any worse for wear and seemed to understand that her barking had set off the collar. She actually sat quietly at the fence while my neighbors were working in their garden.

I did however knock off a star for the flimsiness of the band. We have two dogs, and the other dog chewed/ripped the band while they were playing. It did not even last 24 hours. I'm not entirely suprised since band strength was a common complaint on many collars I researched, but I am disappointed that a company that specialized in outdoor and hunting equipment didn't have a stronger band. For as much as this collar costs, it should be sturdier.

All in all, the NoBark 10R is a wonderful product. It's effective, but be prepared to replace the band.

5No more excessive barking!  Jul 07, 2010
We live in a townhome that shares a wall on either side with other units, and despite never having received a complaint after 5 years of living there (with the same neighbors and same 2 dogs), we recently received a notice from my HOA that one of my neighbors had contacted them about our dogs barking excessively during the day in our absence. We were pretty surprised because they don't really bark when we're at home, and we'd only heard them bark when we left the house, but we thought it was only for a few minutes. Our dogs are part of our family, so to find them a new home was not an option we considered but the idea of somehow safely correcting them when we're away from home was a daunting task. We immediately started researching and read review after review of various products, deciding that this was the best to at least start with. We hated the idea of using an electric collar (again - our dogs are family), but we also knew that if we eased them into the collars, used the right training before using it throughout the day and used the right positive assurance/reinforcement when they got that first correction from the collar and stopped barking, we could avoid future complaints and/or fines and visits from the police or animal control. We followed the instruction booklet that came with the collar to the letter. Unfortunately, it did not explain how best to train a dog who only barks when you leave the house. So for anyone in a similar situation, what we did was set the collars on the second setting, put the collars on the dogs while giving them treats, acted as though we were leaving and went through all the motions of that process (starting the car and opening/closing garage door, etc.). We waited to see if we heard any barking, and if we did, which was only once, we immediately returned inside to reassure them. We went through this process several more times over a week-long period and would gradually stay away for a few minutes longer each time until we felt comfortable that they understood the collar's purpose. Apparently, it worked because neither dog has acted differently towards us or weird in other ways, and they have pretty easily accepted this change. In fact, we may be able to stop using the collars after a few more weeks since they have already adjusted their barking habits in general (like when we're home but someone comes to the door) even when the collars aren't on them. I realize that not all dogs will react so well to this collar, perhaps no matter what training techniques are used, but this worked for us and has really put our minds at ease because we know our neighbors are not disturbed, and the dogs aren't going anywhere.
