This collar has settings from 1 to 8 which is great - we have found that our dog responded quite quickly to level 2 (and he's a big dog)so we haven't had the need to increase the shock level - which makes us feel much better about using this kind of product.

This product is effective and humane. People who think shock collars are cruel have either never used one or used one improperly. I have a very stubborn and distractable 9 mo old pit-bull. This collar has given a more clear line of communication that she can't miss or ignore. I take her to the beach and we both swim with the collar and controller, I dive more than 7 feet with the controller all the time and it doesn't miss a beat. I can swim while she sits on the beach and if she's distracted and tries to run off all I have to do is give her the warning tone and viola! Presto Change'o she sits while I keep swimming. The recharger for both controller and collar is a wonderful thing and a true necessity. I am very hard on things and this collar has survived for 6 months so far while remaining in near perfect condition (despite my best efforts), Truly a miracle of modern science!
My best advice? Get one and shock your dog, you can both thank me later.

The best collar ever! I waited as I thought it was expensive and it was worth every penny. My dog responded to it asap and has been a different dog since the second we put it on. Ours actually wouldn't hold a charge but one call to Amazon and we had another one at our door within 2 days (amazon rocks!) We barely have to use the shock feature as she became a better listener instantly, and if she hesitates-all we have to do is pick up the remote! Totally humane-we have it set on level 4 and have a super smart super tough Shepherd mix and she flicks her ears or moves quick like something surprised her and that's it. She listens great now and we have our life back from an unruly dog! Worth every penny and definitely buy it right from Amazon.com...

The Petsafe PDTOO-10603 Yard and Park remote trainer has been a wonderful tool! I have a Standard Poodle and she has been a tough case! She is like having a 3 year old in the house...always in trouble! The collar has given her direction and me some sanity! It only took a few times for her to understand and respond! I am no longer yelling at her and she responds to her commands with only a whisper or hand gesture.
We have recently started agility training and it is going well, thanks to this great training tool!
The collar is easy to use and easy to charge! I have had no problems with it keeping the charge all day. In the 4 weeks that I have had the training collar I feel it was one of the better investments I've ever made! Having a well mannered dog is a blessing...it's good for you and your dog! I recommend this collar to anyone who needs to get a grip on their dog's behavior, or to train then for any reason!! Go ahead and buy one! I promise you will go to bed with your best friend by your side and have a smile on your face because he or she is so perfect!!

This product made training my dog easier than I ever tought it would be... i don't have to use the "shock" option (that I keep at #2 out of 9)I just use the positive and negative marker beeps to train my dog.I would recommend this product to anyone who has a large breed that is hard to control.
For the Record ... the setting #2 is so soft that is realy hard to feel (i tired it out on myself before putting that thing on my dog)...
Highly recommended to all dog lovers who are about to give up and send their dogs to the pound !!!!
