Possibly the greatest invention ever! We have this little insane Papillion who became very yappy, barking at everything. Over the weekend we purchased the PetSafe Little Dog Spray Bark Collar. After three sessions of wearing the collar, she's completely stopped the incessant barking even when she's not wearing the thing. This morning she saw the dog across the street headed out for its morning walk. Normally this would send her into the stratosphere. This time, she quietly growled and let out three very quiet little barks along with some of the cute little Papillion noises she makes and that was it. She did not even have the collar on. My sanity is saved!

Don't let the 1 star fool you, when these babies work, they are a miracle for getting your dog to stop barking!!!
1st we picked up one of those sound collars and our Yorkie imediately began barking for about five minutes. Every time he barked the sound would go off and he'd look up at the ceiling wondering who the heck was making that noise so he kept barking at the ceiling the entire time.
Next we tried SpraySense. We couldn't believe we finally got that dog to stop barking and were thrilled! Although the collar and box were HUGE we felt bad about that so went searching for a smaller spray bark collar. That's when we came across this Petsmart collar at Petco, Portland, OR.
I was elated they had something smaller cause I felt bad for my dog lugging this gigantic lead box around his neck. Got it home and it did not work. Well, it worked a couple times after my husband put it to his own throat and barked for five minutes.
Back to the store it went. While there, I had her open two more of these boxes to make sure they worked. They did not! Glad I didn't end up making three separate trips, but thrilled I didn't buy it online! It would have taken forever trading all these out.
I still can't believe 3 out of 3 were duds. I guess it was a bad month in China for making sprayers squirt!
I really wanted this collar to work! It was the perfect size for my Yorkie!!! I'm glad it's working for others, but now that we got some peace and quiet in this house, back to the bulky huge SpraySense we go until we can find another brand for a small dog that actually works.
I'd still recommend you buy it but not online and make them take it out and test it before you leave the store!
Doesn't work May 25, 2010
I bought this for a 6 lb Chihuahua and it was very big and awkward for such a little dog. It also never sprayed when she barked. If it did actually spray, it didn't even faze her. I'm sending it back.

This collar works great! Our dog's barking was out of control. Now, he's a quiet boy who observes outdoor activity and noises, but doesn't get all worked up about them. Our dog is much more at ease now. Wearing the collar has given him permission to be "off-duty." He's calmer and happier than before....even when the collar is off. The manufacturer states the collar is not to be worn more than 8 hours/daily. We use it 5 hours/daily...when we're away at work. We're very happy with the results!

I bought this little dog spray for my chihuahua/shih tzu mix pup because he barks at everything! I was really concerned that the spray would hurt him but it doesn't. He barks, it spritzes a lemon burst around his snout and then he stops. He hasn't quit completely, but I don't leave it on for extended periods of time, either. I can tell it is working because when he is not wearing it, and there are children playing close to the house, he will growl lowly instead, because he understands that if he barks he's going to get an unpleasing aroma shot at him. It is not recommended to leave the collar on for more than 8 hours and pet owners should take the time to understand and to train your dog when it is appropriate and inappropriate to bark. I would recommend this product to anyone that has a consistent barker, but not to a puppy! Puppies are like babies that cry, you shouldn't punish them for acting like they are supposed to.
All in all, a good training tool.
