SOLVED MY TWO BIG PROBLEMS Mar 06, 2010 My biggest irritant with my cats has been their ability to walk on my kitchen countertops and they did it constantly. I tried double sided tape, aluminum foil and shelf paper upside down and screaming. Nothing worked consistently. I never liked the thought of a cat walking in litter followed by my countertops. The SSScat cured that problem in a matter of hours. Occasionally I hear the can spray go off, but I discovered the cats no longer set it off. The dog will surf the countertop with her nose and set off the sensor.
My second irritation was with a cat who had bladder stones. This caused him to urinate on my black leather sectional. I ended up putting towels on the sectional. He would urinate on the towels and the living room smelled of cat urine. I purchased a second unit and placed it at a downward angle between the cusions at the apex of the sectional. Problem solved.
I don't like it when my pets affect my living standards or run my life. This product returned my household to normality and everyone is happy.

Not the BLUE ONE like in picture May 02, 2008 When I bought this Product the images were of the older blue unit, which is what I wanted since it gave off a warning noise before spraying. I see this as an advantage as it would warn humans that they are about to be sprayed, and thus save the canned air. Oh and you dont have to buy the SSSCAT replacement cans, Take the top part of the unit to your Office Depot and you can find a few diffrent type of canned Airs that the unit will fit, for much less that $10 for a 4.5 oz CAN. The only thing diffrent in the SSSCAT canned air and the normal canned air is the SSSCAT has some white stuff in there so the cat sees a clouds of smoke comming to them. The cloud of smoke disappears about half way thru the can anyway, so why pay more for it. I was able to get my unit on a memorix canned air.

Works...sometimes. Nov 30, 2007 I had an older model of the Sscat that had an alarm which would sound before it sprayed. You could set it to "alarm only" - no spray - after your cat was trained. This would save on canisters of air, which are outrageously expensive and are smaller now (by almost half) than they use to be. The original canister was wider also, which made the unit more stable. These new tiny canisters are too small and make it top-heavy and difficult to balance the unit on uneven surfaces.
The new model has "spray only" - no alarm. I suspect the manufacturer figured out they could make more $ on the canisters without the alarm.
The original model lasted about 2 years. This new model works only intermittently, so occasionally I find my cat sitting right next to it.
Bottom line: Too expensive, not reliable. Find something else.
works great if you receive it intact Oct 08, 2007 I received it but it had a really small leak. I connected it up and worked fine as far as scaring the cat off the couch but the canister was empty in 2 weeks with only one spray. I checked the connector and it is pretty cheaply made. Mine was cracked when I received it but only noticed it later. Please check yours carefully when you receive it.
Amazing product! May 13, 2007 I will purchase more of these very soon. This product works like a champ! Cat gets too close, she gets a puff in the face. Even my clever cat can't outsmart the Scat Kit.
